 Дельфин Коммерсона, или пестрый дельфин (лат. Cephalorhynchus commersonii) - млекопитающее из рода пёстрых дельфинов (лат. Cephalorhynchus). Назван в честь Филибера Коммерсона, который впервые описал этих животных в 1767 году. Дельфины Коммерсона являются одними из самых маленьких китообразных, достигая в длину лишь 1,3-1,7 метра и массы тела 35-60 кг. Существует две популяции дельфинов Коммерсона, которые отделены друг от друг примерно на 8 500 км. Одна популяция находится на юге Южной Америки, вдоль побережья Патагонии к югу от мыса Горн, восточнее центрального Магелланова пролива и на Фолклендских островах. Вторая популяция расположена в Индийском океане, возле островов Кергелен.

 Commerson's dolphin, dolphin or mottled (lat. Cephalorhynchus commersonii) - a mammal of the genus motley dolphins (lat. Cephalorhynchus). Named in honor of Philibert Commerson, who first described these animals in 1767. Commerson's dolphins are one of the smallest cetaceans, reaching a length of only 1.3-1.7 meters and a body weight of 35-60 kg. There are two populations of Commerson dolphins, which are separated from each other by about 8500 km. One population is in the south of South America, along the coast of Patagonia to the south of Cape Horn, to the east of the central Strait of Magellan and the Falkland Islands. The second population is located in the Indian Ocean, near the Kerguelen Islands.
